Leaf Change - Day 2 - Walking and Walking and Walking NYC

Sunday treated us to bright clear weather for our planned walking day around the city.  We took off from the hotel and walked a mile down to a beautiful raised walking path in Manhattan known as the High Line.  It's a mile and a half path so once we made it all the way down and back meant we'd done 5 miles before lunch.

The High Line is built on an old raised railroad track which was active up until the 40's.  In 2009 they opened it up as a walking path.

We took the subway out to Brooklyn and a park our niece had recommended to us known as Prospect Park. On the walk over there we passed by the new Barclays Center.

We were lucky enough to hit up a food festival at the park known as Smorgasburg.  Tina had a lamb burger while I had a duck sandwhich.

After lunch we walked a trail around the lake to work off a few calories.

Overall it was a 12 mile day.  Until the next post ...

... keep on smiling!

Leaf Change - Day 1 - Back to the Big Apple

Today was a long day.  Up at 5 AM to close up the house and finish packing, and then a ride from Tina's sister to Orlando airport at 6 AM, all to catch a flight to NYC at 8 AM.  Top that off with having gotten to bed late and we were both kind of walking zombies.

We checked in our hotel in Times Square and went out for lunch before coming back for a long nap.  Then it was on to the TKTS to buy a ticket for a play named "Amazing Grace"  which we saw that evening and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anyway, no pictures or anything big to report, so I'll just say our vacation and therefore blog is back alive again.  So until tomorrow ...

GOODBYE FROM THE BIG APPLE!
