Day 3 - Making Heck in Helsinki

After an overnight cruise through the Baltic Sea we arrived in Finland.  This is an amazingly busy port, but a beautiful one also.

Helsinki City Hall

Tina and I did our own tour since the afternoon activities were going to be more strenuous.  The tour started out through the city with a stop at what is called "Rock Church".  It's a huge active Lutheran church literally built into the ground into a huge granite rock.

Outside of Rock Church
The inside ceiling is made up of wound copper wires which would make it enormously expensive to build today. The walls themselves are the granite rock with a pipe organ built into it.

In the afternoon Tina and I took a shot at learning Nordic walking at a country spa and garden area about an hour outside of Helsinki.  The grounds were beautiful and learning the Nordic walking was pretty easy.

As might be expected, Tina's main exercising came from the muscles above her neckline.  :)

We spent some time wandering through town before finally heading back to the busy port and our own "tiny" cruise ship.
