Scenery was still spectacular though. The monument shown below is from an island located at the arctic circle. They had a celebration up on the top deck of the ship where you got a present for crossing back over the arctic circle ... but only if you took a tablespoon full of cod liver oil first.
...
Tina and I sadly missed that. :)

Tell Me Which one is Cuter |
We met a local girl born who was raised in the town who had finished aviation school down in Vero Beach a couple of years ago. She knew ALL about why we were vacationing in Norway during September. She used to hate having to fly in non-air-conditioned school planes during her two Septembers there. :)
Meanwhile towards the end of the day the ship passed by the hole in the mountain.
Ends up while Norways fjords and mountains were trying to fully grow up out of the ocean, the sea level progressed from the top of this cave to the bottom. Constant waves eroded the cave out and eventually worked it's way to where there was a hole all the way through the mountain.
Explaining the hole in the mountain is a lot easier than trying to explain Tina! :)
And with that, I figure I'd best close out for this post before I cost myself anymore points with my lovely wife.
