I haven't posted forever and I'll try to keep up with this trip as we go. It's limited internet coverage I'm dealing with so don't know how well I'll do.
As part of the foundation we work with we bid on this trip at last years major fund raiser. South Africa has always been on our bucket list and we've never talked to anybody who didn't love visiting this place. The trip here took us from home at 1PM to Orlando airport with a big thanks to our son-in-law Adam for the ride. Then it was on to Atlanta, then an overnight flight to Johannesburg, and then a final flight down to Cape Town. Between delays on tarmac's and so forth it was a total of 20 hours on planes and we finally got to our hotel shortly after midnight on today, Friday February 19th. We took on an extra day up front before the tour starts to try to acclimate ourselves to the 7 our time change from home.
Anyway, not many pics today, but we did about 8 miles of walking around town. The waterfront area here is really special.
Anyway, until tomorrow, so long from South Africa.
