Tina and I did a tour this day which among other places took us to a place which showed the Scotland Gaelic's population movement to Nova Scotia and how they developed it through the years. The Gaelic population in Scotland at the time did not own the land they farmed and it was up to the whim of the owner to kick them out at any given time. Due to this and other prejudices they started moving to Nova Scotia where they could be land owners.
This was what there typical houses looked like before they left Scotland.
And this was one of the typical houses they had when they moved to Nova Scotia. They had to learn to build with wood instead of stone.
Heading back to the ship we stopped at a small town which once was the summer vacation home of Alexander Graham Bell and his wife.
Tina dn Tom with the famous couple.
... have a beer for the Scots.
