New England - Day 6 - Block Island

Wednesday brought us open seas and 4 to 6 foot seas on our way to Block Island which is only 13 miles off the tip of Long Island.  That's not fun seas on a ship this size.  Fortunately Tina and I fared well with the rock 'n rolling boat.  Several members of the crew and fellow passengers didn't do as well.

As we approached Block Island we found out this was Block Island Race Week 2015.  There was a ton of sail boats as far as the eyes could see.

Then we were into New Harbor inside the island.

Tina and I, Sue and Karen decided to take a taxi tour around the entire island, which is all of ~20 square miles.  The taxi driver had a good sense of humor on how he treated bad customers.

The entire tour took about an hour.

For dinner we elected to eat off-board at a restaurant named Dead Eye Dicks.  For a "Yankee" restaurant, they did a respectable job on Shrimp and Grits.  :)

 Until tomorrow, keep on laughing.
