Canyon Trip - Day 5 - Zion National Park Day 2

Tuesday was another day back to Zion.  This time I had a chance to do a lot more pics on the way up to the main canyon.

Checkerboard mountain side.

Then it was on to climb a strenuous trail named Angels Landing. The main trail of Angels Landing is a bit more than 2 miles long but also includes altitude increase of about 1300 feet.  It was a challenging climb.

The beautiful vacation girls.

The sweaty guys.

The landing spot at the top of the main trail.  A good rest was in order.

The last mile of the trail was climbing up on chains across the rocky steep slope to get up to a narrow rock path with a long ways down on either side.   None of the 5 of us felt up to that challenge, particularly with the tons of people on the trail climbing all over each other.

A cautionary sign at the start of the upper trail.  No need to warn us.

Looking down on the trail we took up and now needed to take down.

After a quick break it was onto Emerald Pools Trail.

Enjoying a beer at the end of a long day.

Until the next post, keep on climbing.
